mikeyblue 28
Hi Nessie, When I first started I bought some hemp nets of Ebay. I think I got them for £17 for ten. After a while I purchased ten nylon nets to use with the hemp ones on bigger sets. The hemp ones are far superior and i cant really get on with the nylon ones. My advice would be deffinately hemp. If you put an ad in the wanted section on here Im sure someone will have some for sale. Regards, Mikeyblue Quote Link to post

Guest bodgerbear
Its only my personal opinion but I cant seem to get on with nylon nets. I really like my hemp nets, and found it cheaper to make my own too. Don't take to long to learn (And helps when you need to repair the nets) Quote Link to post
doris 6
make em yerself. its very satisfying when yer 1st bunny is tucked up in one!! Quote Link to post
comanche 2,942
Spun is probably the best but there have been plenty of foul wet days when they have soaked up water like a sponge and become heavy and next to useless . At times like these I always wish I'd brought a few of my ancient el-cheepo ,flimsy, nylon things out with me . Some of the heavy-gauge nylon nets available today handle reasonably well and are very good value . If I were a beginer on a tight budget they would be my choice until I learned to make my own . Nessie you cant beat spun poly, but as comanche says there will be days when they will soak up a lot of water and become heavy, but the quality of some of the thicker nylon ones are good and will prob be better for these days. Try to PM longnetter he sells 10z nylon ones for £1 each or go to www.bridportnets.co.uk they sell good quality spun poly and 10z nylon ones for a reasonable price. Quote Link to post
caterpiller 10
My choice would be 10Z Nylon knitted onto good quality heavy 1 1/4 inch Rings and a good 5mm Drawcord. Yes, they are a little heavier but they handle well Quote Link to post
The one 8,467
I use 50 hemp nets and it only take 5 minutes to hang them from the bottom ring in the garage at the end of the day to dry them when your putting the rest of the gear away Quote Link to post
