othickman 6
I think its a good idea as you must have a licence for a shotgun or centrefire rifle so why not an air rifle. But then how else are people going to join the air rifle community? If you have to get a license for an air rifle why not just go for a shotgun?? And a lot of people start off shooting air rifles because of the lack of licenses and then move onto sgc's and fac's later. To put air rifles on the license required list would screw up air guns as a sport, would screw up shooting as a sport, and would further threaten the rest of shooting as more regulations and tighter restrictions would soon follow. farmerkev09 105
nar i would say not its not the easyest of sports to get into in the first place nemind with a lisence Quote Link to post
nickarris83 17
a big no no i think , there are to many guns out now it will cause chaos, air rifle sport is expensive and hard enough to get into as it is, even without applying for a license, i should think that every airgun owner should have some kind of insurance though. also it would proberly make lots of shops close down , Edited February 18, 2010 by nickarris83 Quote Link to post
JackReid 35
I think a licence for air rifles would be a good thing. I think it should be the same as a shotgun certificate, where you can buy as many guns as you like and can use them where you have premission.Doing this would stop criminals and idiots getting hold of airguns, plus I think licence holders should be allowed up to 30ftlb's of power. It makes sense doesn't it!? A licnence that isn't too hard to get providing you're not a violent criminal, and will allow resposnible people to own and use more powerfull airguns. So basically idiots won't be allowed any airgun, at all!, but more powerfull guns will be avalible for sensible hunters and target shooters. What do you think? You have a pointmate but where do you draw the line on who is an idiot or not? Government dont do too well at that so thats the main hurdle.. Jack Quote Link to post
wrowmon 1
the way things are going we soon won't have a say but i don't think it is a good idea,no way would they let us have move ft/lbs.you can get an fac if you want 30 ft/lbs. they would increase the restrictions even ban use for hunting like quite a few other countries do. no keep it as it is Quote Link to post

Government dont do too well at that so thats the main hurdle.. Jack Well that bits easy Simply anyone who ends their sentances with "Like", "know what I mean", and "Innit". That gets rid of the inbread chave scum yokels (Sorry to the geniune Redneck yokels out there, I know they are not chave scum even if they are inbread). Also the ones that wear their super large baseball and peak caps on sideways or back to front. The pricks that wear so much bling they rely on the dazzle to call in the maggies (most wont even know what a maggie is) and of course all those :wankerzo4: that wear suites and introduce themselves as "I'm such and such, I'm an MP you know, please vote for my party" That would pretty much allow the rest of us to go around our own business and shooting in a safe, secure and pleasent mannor without bothering anyone else but the die hard bunnie f g tree huggers Phantom Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
nice point phantom, however what image do the cammo clad hunters give,i never wear cammo when hunting but see loads of people walking around here looking like rambo even when they are off to the shop, realtree etc have a lot to answer . and why do they need to wear cammo at night? I only wear cammo when out hunting, even at night Makes it even harder for the quarry to spot you at night. Bunnies see blocks of shape rather that an an outline, so breaking up that shape ie: to camofauge the shape makes it that bit harder (But thats a different thread entirely!) I live in a place thats fairly rural and the only other people I see wearing camo are fishermen (loads of em in this area including me) and the young fashion consious bucks and tarts. I rarely see anyone else wearing camo unless I go into the city. Phantom Quote Link to post
wrowmon 1
ok but a new thread about cammo is needed then field craft is a damn more important than dpm in my view. Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I find that field craft and camo go hand in hand; and I'm sure most of the regular successful hunters will back me up with that. Sure people can wear bright coloured t-shirts and jeans etc and get results I've done it as well but I find since I have moved onto DPM my bags have increased greatly Phantom Quote Link to post
