wilson4347 5
I have today recieved the mk3m collar i ordered to use with my mk1 finder, put the supplied batteries in and did as it says to use the magnetic keyring to turn it on, mk1 box didnt pick it up. After some fiddling the box picked it up but then went dead!, i put the bats they had sent in my original mk1 collar and it barely registered. Is there a special way to turn it on with the magnetic keyring that i have misread? or are the batteries deben supply wank! Exuse my potty mouth but they for what they cost i expect it to work, although i bought it due to th high prices which mk1 collars are fetching, Thanks for reading and any advice is welcome Quote Link to post
auld salmon 28
theres not a special way to turn it on and as for the betteries they wont do in the mk1 collar as it uses 357s and the mk3 uses 394s but it should work okay with the mk1 box Quote Link to post

wilson4347 5
I know they aren the corect batteries for the mk1 just needed a way to test them, yes i need to buy a tester, im convinced its just the batteries they provide that are crap, it did work but only for a moment, i just held the magnetic keyring to it for a second as per instructions so its either he batteries or the collar is faulty. stubby 175
I know for sure that a mk1 box will work with mk3 collars, but don't know if the same can be said for mk3m, maybe they differ in some way Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
On the MK3M collar, if you look close, there is a small arrow marked on it. I think you have to 'stroke' the magnet away from the collar in the direction of the arrow to turn it on and off? [well you do if you use the MK3M locator]. My MK1 will pick up the MK3M collars no problem [if they are on!] Quote Link to post
wilson4347 5
Thanks for that mate, makes more sense now have ordered some new batts anyway as the ones supplied tested weak Quote Link to post
