Are buck knives any good

I have been after a decent skinning knife and have been ofered some real nice knives off members on here but my friend has just offered me a buck knife he says they are great just wondered what you guys think of them do they keep a good sharp edge and do they sharpen well? any info would be well apreciated cheers all.

Yes they are good Ive got the alpha folder I think its called, holds an edge really well.

Cheers mate thats all I neede to know this one my mate has is a fixed blade skinning knife so should do the trick cant go wrong for £20

cheers lads I bought the knife off my mate today and I am made up with it good sharp edge on it and he has used it for a year or two now and still like new so well pleased.

Lovely knives, I too have the Alpha Folder - Gut hook though.
