best dog i ever had killed a fox at 8 months, had him out with the terriers and they rattled a fox outa the cover, lurcher was onto him when he broke, fox swung around and caught him by the snout and the lurcher ran away, was only a pup, next minuite the lurcher turned round and got mad and boned the fox, never looked back after that, bleedin freak of a dog, first cross collie grey, havent had one like him since ,what a dog on foxes. but i will say that he was too young and it was my fault and i could have ruined him that day but i was lucky,he was a good one RIP BILL

READ IT PROPERLY RIODOG - IT SAYS 30 MINS BEFORE , SO STOP TRYIN TO BE A FUNNY C.U.N.T AND FKOFF , HOW CANT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT ? IT SAYS ABOUT 3O MINUTES BEFORE ??????

Grow up. If you want help don't start having a go. Its people like you that make some parts of this forum bad.

:wankerzo4:

okay then l just let people take the pi ss ,

We all like a bit of banter don't we. But if no one is being abusive towards you then don't start being abusive back.

problem with this site is you have to give attitude cos theres to many sarky sods on ere and that dont give any possitive comments. And regards to your pup mate take him with a great dog that has a great strike rate. Run the pup doubled up so when the experienced dog catches the pup also gets the rewards of the catch and this will make him keener. Ive done this with my pup i havnt increased gradually just ran him doubled up with some good dogs and know hes keen as hell and only 7 months. I'l keep running him doubled up till 12 months. You find they learn the lamp quicker this way to. Done this with all my dogs. And not one has pulled off. The pup has got to learn that at the end of his hard work theres the fun of the kill.

mate you never know that might be what made the dog. That experience even tho young. Like you said you aint had a dog like him so that experience obviously done good. So i wouldnt regret it at all. Thats big problem with lurcher people they find something that works then they go in completely wrong direction. You just never know..........

i have a 9 month old beddy x and has doing okay took to the lamp great , ive had about 6 bunnies with him so far i made sure not to give him to much & last night i was out and he jacked in on 2 rabbits , he coursed 1 for ages about 30 minutes before and killed it , then on the last 2 he just stopped , on the first he ran his legs of then just ran along side it and stopped same with the second ...... this is the first time ive ever had this and the last thing i wanted , would appreciate some advice from any off the lads on here who know what they talkin about cos its got me baffled . thanks dean

you say in one of your replies that you go out with your mates why not let there dogs do the catch and retrieve, then take the rabbit to middle of field and let it go again then slip your pup i have two pups coming on and thats what me and my mate do as long as your mates understanding that if it doesnt catch its only a rabbit? plus its only one of this lol

i think it must have had an effect on him alright cos he would always go mad for anything that would bite him after that, like foxes ,rats, wild cats and other stuff, but i seen him throw away rabbits half alive loads a times,he didnt have any time for them

8 or 9 months thya should be catching easy rabbits with the odd good chase but not big nites wa s out last nite with pup gave her half adozen runs she caut three then gave her a rest for an hour she caut another three then that was it for the nite as you can see last one was making her dig in to catch , but she will e out tomorow for a little look in the daylite ,on abolter or two ,, if thye are bred [bANNED TEXT] and have natural wind and pace the are usaly fine and if they have not got natural wind let them only have a few runs and build them up ,

this lads only couple of mile from me, and with the bunnies short on the ground i think its hard to pick and choose runs, and there aint any easy rabbits wi half the county lampin/moochin/ferretin em. but agree finish the dog until nxt season and take frm there..

yup its hard to choose round here be lucky if we see 2 rabbits ,
