The best thing in my eyes to do is put the dog up until next season mate, let him mature and become an adult give him loads exersize over the summer then try him next winter. i wouldnt worry too much to be honest its still only young. good luck

i have a 9 month old beddy x and has doing okay took to the lamp great , ive had about 6 bunnies with him so far i made sure not to give him to much & last night i was out and he jacked in on 2 rabbits , he coursed 1 for ages about 30 minutes before and killed it , then on the last 2 he just stopped , on the first he ran his legs of then just ran along side it and stopped same with the second ...... this is the first time ive ever had this and the last thing i wanted , would appreciate some advice from any off the lads on here who know what they talkin about cos its got me baffled . thanks dean

Dogs need "Quality Rest" just as much as excercise. You need to ballance this out, and only you know by reading your dog.

9 months old on the lamp is too young. The dog is still growing, learning. Lamping takes alot out of a dog. Your dog needs to be 100% fit for lamping and conditioned for the beam.

Id spend more time bonding with your dog first, and dont listen to others when they ask you to run your dog at 9 months. Their's will burn out, whilst yours correctly trained and introduced will be a pot filler for many years to come.

if i was you i would take him out during the day and let him find and run a few of his own. then wait for the mixy in the summer and giv him them on the lamp. this how i started my dog off last summer, at 10/11 month and it brought her confidence right up. 21 rabbits and two hares her best bag this season so must have done somthing right

His dog is only a pup not quite ready for work by the sounds of it. rest her mate i no its hard and you want to gt out and do something but it will benefit you for next season. you may run the risk of her opening up other wise or worse. not running the beam at all

well to be honest i think the dog is far to young to be running the lamp like that. the dog isnt yet physicaly mature let alone mentaly. ferretin or leting him watch other dogs on the lamp. and then once the corn is up enough to give the bunnies something to squat in pick out the good ones and sure once his confidence is back up you will be ok. unless hes just a shi++er. best luck

bang on imo,enough said

give it a month worth off exercise then try it agian with some kick ups if it dont do no good agian give it a nother month and try it agian and so on. u give it till next season how do u no that it wont do it agian [what a wast of time ]i have a 3/4grey/1/4 collie killed its first rabbit in the lamp at 8mouth old .i am a belever of stating them young.u can tell if the dog has the minrales. weaver u start them at 8mounth or 15 mounth makes no diffence.people say to young to young so what there saying is ever dog they have stared at 13/14/15mouth old has ternt out good bullshit /start it when u think it is ready.as long as it is catching and not over run. there shoud;ent be a problem atb

the point is he was told when to start it,and obviously it sounds to me like it was to soon,iv never seen the dog so dont know, and as iv never started a dog off at that age,i would not know what its like to have a dog at that age jacking already, jmo
