Recommended Posts

having problems getting my pup to retrieve, she's nearly 10 month and a collie/greyhound.

she retrieves everything i throw her ie: socks, tedddys, dummies but not bunnies. she starts pissin bout with em,

is this because shes still imature or have i got a problem. she has retrived them after a few mins playing about

but getting frustrating. any advice or tips would be great thanks, martin

This is quite common especially if you've never used fur with the dog before. Just tease the dog with the bunny and get it excited then throw........ the dog should chase and hopefully grab dont be surprised if the dog runs around with it or holds it like a dirty nappy do this a couple of times a day if you can. Alternatively tie some string to the rabbit and run dragging it behind you. Squirrels are also good for retrieve training they're light and easy for the dog to pick up....good luckthumbs.gif

[stick to basics mate, continue the retreive training with the dummy, try putting a rabbit skin around the dummy. dont do retreive training every day, miss a day or two, then only give two or three short retreives lots of fuss. she may be getting bored and not seeing it as a game. good luck keep at it.
