conor.k 2 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Share Posted February 12, 2010 just got new dog of a friend it was his wifes it just lay round the house because he had no intrest in hunting it so i said ill hunt it now the question do u think i can turn the dog around had it out the other nite 5 slips 3 rabbits not bad but he just wants to hunt up and not come back he jumps like a stag during the day but wont at night how do i turn it round its two and a half now is it two late because its very disobediant the breed is..... grey x foxhound ....... saluki x weaton x grey some pics any advice welcome Quote Link to post

cooper101 86 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Share Posted February 12, 2010 id go back too basics right back to getting it to heel on the lead and teach him manners before i let him loose in the field!! get him sitting on command and staying then letting him walk off the lead when hes grasped that and when u feel hes moved too far away from u get him to return!! i know i must sound like im telling you how too suck eggs and i dont mean too but its the way i would do it if i really wanted to make this dog part of my pack!! good luck with him mate looks a lovley dog!! I recon if you take it back to basics nice and steady like,give pleanty of over the top praise when his recall goes well you should have a nice all round dog there mate.
