this lamping comp and any being planed should be givin up as a bad job. competion in hunting are part of the reason hare coursing is now band and a stupid hunting ban is now in place. the ban is no more stupid than lamping competions! ffs what does catching lamped rabbits prove!.

 

as for your mixi rabbit, a rabbit is a rabbit and they all need to be controled! a mixi is not a lot different to the rabbit that claps tight and wont run so do they not count eithier?

 

all this carrie on over 9 rabbits its not worth the battery power you use

To be honest I think the fact there wasn't many rabbits about as an excuse.

If there were more numbers the dogs had more chance so with less i'd say the better dog would win.

There wasn't many rabbits and LDR still won so he deserves too!

in any rabbiting feild trail hunting comp a mixi never counted , in the 91 comp d slieght was in the run off against avey good dog m chapmans bob , they were eqaul on rabbs and pionts ,so they had to go out in grey dark with heavy snow in blairgowrie, bob caut the first rabbit and went through now these dogs had lamped the fri hunted and ferreted the sat to get the winner ,in shitty conditions , so unless you have been there and saw silly comments doesnt matter ,and lessrabbits doesnt mean the better dogs win beacause a good lurcher has to have stamina grit and be able to run a good nites graft if fit ,thtas what agood lurcher does ,its all in the past hopemyour keen to enter the mext comp as you wil be welcome

a field trail tests the skill and training of a dog and handler, lamping competions are a numbers game.

these lamping competions prove nothing other than your dog can catch the easiest of all its quarry under a beam of light witch makes it easier.

very true i do agree there hence i have never wanted to realy enter a rabbit contest but a hunting trail is a bit more dog work as you no , but at this moment in time a good lamping contest a bolting rabbit contest is good sport and crack for a day or two and well its abit of crack see other dogs work etc

Good luck to the lads that have entered and have gone through. Just ignore the moaning fu(kers, its between the two lads that are against each other..and the judge.

can I just correct you here whin? What was your involvement with organising the nl&rc field trials? you were a competitor nothing more, you did get to judge a section once, as for the Friday night that was just a meet up and drink nothing more nothing less Saturday you were judged on you and your dog working, marking and ferreting,then Saturday night you were required to go out lamping,this was all done in teams England,Scotland and Wales, the points were totalled Saturday night and the highest mark from each country got to run off Sunday morning for the title you was running a Hancock dog at the time Fallon How did she do? As for D Sleight did he ever win the trials?

yes i did enter a 14 month old pup and yes she done pretty well for the type of bred she was ye dave ran of against m chapman , did you have adog init atoll , but i have been to several cocker trails and saw severl coursing comps so are you intrseted in it as in entering leeview because its going be good and good crack and hopefully good sport

Been watching this topic with some interest so thought I'd put my penny's worth in. Seems to me the only one's bitching are the ones who couldn't be arsed to enter or lacked the bottle. Whin I've seen a few of your posts before and your either a slabbering demented Orc or just a grade 1 prick. The lad who started this whole thing should not be getting the grief he has especially from the whingers it was the same last time and I wonder if its the same twats under different names. Anyway thats my input Whin short for whinger or windbag. Good luck with your comp prob only you and and your pal Sleight that will be in it.
