whip x grey 276
i have thought about this also yes i race dogs,,,,other family greys,,,,and lurchers,,gundogs,,,terrir,s,,blah blah e,t,c and i thought,,,,next dog will be a lurcher type,,,,,as its always good to have a break from racing game e,t,c but knowing me i would want a dog that will race well in summer at lurcher meets if i chose,,and rabbiting dog and other if it pop up on my mooch,,pre ban offcourse i thought coursing grey ,sulki x hard blood whip, grey 22inch+ would be good or even if there was touch off collie,or beddie but wont be for a few years if iam right,,,,save to say,,with the hunting ban,,,there will be big changes on whats an allrounder (if such a dog exsits),,as when folk keep getting turned over for hunting bigger game ,,times will change ,,,and its such a shame as,,there only filling the pot Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
it's all a lottery mate, all you can do is lower the odds by finding two good dog's that have been bred by lads who get out a lot on the sort of stuff you want to hunt,as you've probably guessed by now everyone likes different crosses on here as our great country has such different region's,mountains, fens, small fields etc,and not all types will suit that particular terrain, what do other lads in your area run?do they catch much?don't rush in is my advice, get out with a few like minded people in your hunting area and see if it suits you, lurcher's and longdog's by col ted walsh is a timeless book full of all the information anyone could want on most crosses, hope this helps, wirralman Quote Link to post
