Hi Megpsycho,

The rifle you are talking about is most probably called a Theoben Rapid 7.

The Rapid 7 comes in many forms now.

It has either a

7 or 12 shot magazine in .22 calibre

12 shot magazine in .20 calibre

And a 17 shot magazine in .177 calibre.

The 2 models that I think your friend will be selling his either a mark 1 or mark 2.

A mark 1 will cost £667 new and a mark 2 will cost £835 new from Theoben.

Both rifles are brilliant rifles and will be well worth £300 if it’s just been serviced with new seals and shoots floorless with no faults.

For £300 you would be hard pushed to buy a better precharged charged pneumatic (PCP) rifle if it’s all working 100%, unless someone just decides to sell up and isn’t really bothered about getting a good price for their kit, which hardly ever happens mate.

Scope wise you want to be looking at something like a 3-9x40mm or 3-9x50mm mate which will allow you to shoot both close range and 40 – 50 metres depending on your own shooting skill.

For a cheap but very good scope look at this link mate

I hope that this answers your questions mate.
