ty21 0
Hi guys, After reading a post today by ROG, when he was writing about him having trouble killing woodies straight out without them flying off, I decided to put together a little tutorial to show why they fly off sometimes when hit and how you get around that happening by ensuring that your POI is perfect in a reconised kill area. Here is the link to the footage Enjoy Si loving that video matey really good Quote Link to post

wrowmon 1
nice one zini need to send it to pestokill for the techs. when i worked for them we had the job of clearing the train stations from chester to holyhead of feral pigeons as the QUEEN was visiting wales.i was using my blackfox pcp 20 cal f and t pellets able to do head shots all night long due to how accurate the gun was and choosing a good rest, however my shooting partner turned up with a nasty chinese underlever 8 ft lbs and a grouping which made a 12 bore 00 buck look at tight at 30 yds.we nearly lost the contract because of the blood left by his KILLS flapping about. we ended up with over 400 in 9 hours inc travel time.no police rushed in even thro we were on the platforms from 20.00 until 06.00 am how times have changed. another one was a power station in n wales were crows had nested on the high voltage cables on site we lined up our guns,on the two crows counted to 3 and fired mine fell stone dead his cracked an insulator!!!! he had just brought an hr81 in 177.that gun was pushing out over 18 ft/lbs when we got it checked .he did say it made bigger holes in his shed than the other gun he had (help) Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Not good news that Wrowmon Its just what we dont want as air rifles hunters to happen to us EVER. If anything was to give your company a bad name that would buddy DEFO. I think if it would of been me with your friend, I would of asked him to retrieve the dead birds and would of shot them myself mate 8 ft/lbs is ideal for shooting pigeons at close range if you are able to put the pellet into a reconised kill zone. More than 8 ft/lbs can sometimes go straight through the bird and cause more damage. I tend to shoot close range pigeons in a building in the heart as it guarentees me a clean and humane kill while not over penetrating. Si Quote Link to post
