After a busy dig, is your after care up to scratch?

Some lads in this thread talk of using the dry cow tubes for puncture wounds every dig and the next sentence talk about the overuse of antibiotics .Well heres breaking news lads ,the dry cow tubes are pure pennicilin  .Pennicilin is one of the stronger antibiotics that need careful use so please dont overdo them .Something else too -skin that is barely attached ie chin ,is better off removed as it will not take again and only causes wounds to puss up .Scissor off back to the new and plaster with suda cream daily .

REMOVE SKIN THAT IS BARELY ATTATCHED???? WHAT GIVES YOU THE IDEA THAT IT WILL NOT HEAL WITH THE RIGHT AFTERCARE??? AS LONG AS THE WOUND IS NOT TOTALLY CLOSED AND ALLOWED TO BREATHE WITH THE CORRECT TREATMENT AT THE TIME AND PROPER AFTERCARE SKIN WILL NOT NEED REMOVED, THERE IS ALSO PRODUCTS THERE THAT PROMOTE SKIN GROWTH IN WOUNDS. ALSO SUDO CREAM WILL KEEP A WOUND MOIST AND DIRT WILL ALSO STICK TO IT, IT WILL ALSO LET ANY INFECTION FESTER UNDERNEATH IT. SUDOCREAM IS FOR NAPPYRASH NOT FOR OPEN WOUND TREATMENT.:no:

No wonder the working terrier is becoming so rare. Not going to comment on use of drugs but just ask yourself, do you fill yourself full of drugs everytime you cut yourself, if you do then you should probably stick to ballet dancing and keep away from any sort of livestock. Don't wash eyes out just clear the worst off from around as you can push more dirt in than you get out, let the eyes clean themselves and just remove the gunk that comes out. Keep puncture wounds open to heal from the inside out, do not put any form of quick heal on them and use salt water to clean anything else off if needed, a vet wound powder is useful if you want. If in doubt, buy a cat instead of a terrier and make sure you get it insured for vet bills :whistling:
