Hi Dav,

The Meteor was and still is a brilliant rifle pal for junior shooters or small framed paople.

More suited as a plinking rifle but can be used as a close range vermin rifle to 15 metres.

The mark 6 in .177 as a power setting of around 8.45 FP while the .22 is at about 7.5 according to my power converter, but this is pellet depending. I just plucked a average pellet weight.

hi ya dav

like si said matey nice little starter gun i have one at home i use for the rats open sight cock on matey once you have got some targets up and pratice getting pellet on pellet or there abouts in the inch bull at 10 or 15 mtres and you can do that every time then you might be ready for some rats as they a pretty fast little buggers buddy a good head shot or just behind the shoulder where there elbow goes in and it will soon stop running around after that matey but yes very nice little guns and make sure your safe at all times and a good back stop to your targets

Hi Dav,

Here is a link to a cheap but quality scope if you have a EBay account mate.

The scope takes about a week and half to get to you but well worth the wait.

I use tasco myself and have had a few good kills with mine.

This scope will fullfill your every need with that rifle.

An old Meteor was my first rifle when I was a young teenager. Spent many happy hours plinking and taking out corvids at shorter range. Many happy memories with it. Great little rifle. Hope you have fun with yours also.

The rifle isnt a big rifle and will look out of place and daft with a target scope on it, plus its only going to be used at say 15 to 20 metres max for hunting so a 3-9x40mm will be your best bet pal.

Any 1 inch scope will fit on it though pal or a 30mm to answer your question as long as you get the right mounts.

Hi mate.

Iv got a BSA Meteor in .22 caliber. I have had it since the age of 8 and i am now 15. I have take Feral Pigeon, Wood Pigeons, Rabbits, Crows, Rats, Mice, Squirrels and other pest. It really is a fantastic gun. I had a scope on it, but due to most of my shooting with the air rifle was done in barns sheds and around farm buildings, i preferred the open sights for quick aim and shots. The best shot i done with it was a feral pigeon with my mate and a farm up the road. It was sat on a farm building on the roof approx. 65yds away and i had the open sights on it, I aimed about an inch over its head and because there was next to no wind i had no right or left. So i squeezed the trigger and it smacked him right in the neck and it was stone dead. I couldn't believe it.

It really is a great littler gun. I have just ordered a Gas Ram to put in it and will be shortly buying a nice scope to go with it. And them will most likely sell it as i am going to move on top a PCP air rifle. But i am sure i will miss my little beauty. IMO one of the best and funnes't springs out there, nothing can beat it, light, power full and ow so accurate.
