venomviper 129 Posted February 7, 2010 Author Report Share Posted February 7, 2010 hi ya davy yeah i am chuft buddy he is doing so well matey and as you can see he is shooting at 30mtrs now and i still have the smile on my face he took the plastic bottle top off on the second shot i have no worries with him shooting rabbits or squizzers now at all plus i think he is growing up to fast as he said to me when he saw the rabbit he wouldnt take that shot even though he might get it he thought it was to far i lased it to 43mtrs but it goes to show that he is thinking of what and how he shoots and for 9 years old thats good going really so yeah davy i'm happy as larry buddy shay Quote Link to post

venomviper 129 Posted February 7, 2010 Author Report Share Posted February 7, 2010 hi ya darryl thanks for the nice compliments matey but not to sure about true pro though lol and i think is is getting use to the sitting down bit but he is coming on really well buddy and even picking out my bad habbits sometimes thanks to si lol, but brenden really loves the sport / hobby as well which helps alot and he also enjoys seing the verim running around which is a good outlook for him to have and he knows not everything is there to be shot and in it's own place to but knows that vermin need to be controled as well so he is very good when it comes to the anti's that shout at us from the roadside and he knows what to say and they just dont expect it from and small lad of his age lol. thanks again darryl shay Quote Link to post

A pal has just ordered a .177 Evolution from Theoben! he's picking it up in around 10 days time, he originaly wanted the Carbine version but they advised him if he was going for a .177 to go for the full length version.... You obviously rate them mate as you have two of them! Is there anything he needs to watch out for when he picks it up? venomviper 129 Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Share Posted February 25, 2010 hi ya jasp when he goes to pick it up ask them if he can have it crono'd there matey to check the power as they can drop very fast matey and the full length 177 is alot better buddy like my lads he can rest that anywhere and shoot as it aint got hardly any recoil but if it gets left for anytime matey you do feel recoil so keep an eye on the power side of things matey you either like them or hate them guns my lad loves his and i shoot it every day just to keep it running smooth but i aint keen on them at all air arms man buddy the cold effects them as well a bit like the co2's matey and tell your mate to get some very good dampa mounts as well aqs i made the mistake by just putting a wtc on normal mates and it shattered the lens if i had been him for the price of the evo buddy i would have gone to sandwell field sports and got the hw97kt tune'd by tony wall great bloke and helps you with what ever you need and he has a 20mtr range upstairs to try the gun as well and i saw a gun my mate has and they are alot better after he has done his magic to them buddy sorry to put a bit of a dampa on it matey some people really love them but i dont rate them at all buddy if your mate wants to have a chat to me i can pm my number to him if he wants to but if he is an all season shooter it might not be the right choice for him. shay 1 Quote Link to post

I'll bell him later and fire over the info to him and see what he says, I must admit I thought it was funny when he originaly ordered a Carbine and a few days later they rang him and advised him to get a full length version as the carbine wouldn't shoot so well in .177, not very good sales pitch I must admit!! and if it is the case why ever do they still advertise them in .177....
