hily 380
not much of a dog trainer myself but it does seem that you will have to go back to basics recall and use a cold rabbit for retrievs she just could be to young and needs to have more confidense inyou. Quote Link to post
rickyspringer 15
great response Hily, go back to basics mate, lots of obedience work & then progress to a dummy with a rabbit skin, gradually bring in a cold dead rabbit work on that, than work up to a freshly caught rabbit, & then obviously the really thing. No rushing and do the retrieves in a enclosed area, don't set up to fail you'll get there but with baby steps. Good Luck hope it works out mate. 1 Quote Link to post

all.rounder 3
i was over in the park to day with her and i took a dead rabbit with me.theirs an old fence made of wicker and old tree branches. i held the dog and through the rabbit over it and let the dog go.over she went grabbed the rabbit and jumped back with the rabbit in her mouth and run up till 3ft from me.that was ok the next 4 times she bought it right back.so i put the rabbit back in the bag and went home.but whats really getting to me is the hunting up after she missed a rabbit. nercwys 10
How often do you go to the parc mate? How often do you let her just run about playing? How often do you let her run about with the tennis ball etc? Like the others say go back to basics,Try and keep her as close as you can to you at all times,do you have her in the house with young kids? I think treats are the best think to get her to stay close to you,Give her treats when you are just walking along. And dont let her go to far from you. 1 Quote Link to post
