Crow Decoying

ROWS!

A farm near me had many crows, to many of the *******. So i got myself down to a little gun shop in Aberaeron called Aeron Sports to buy a few crow decoys. I bought a crow flock one and a un-flocked rook one. Off back home and got my kit ready and mum dropped me at the farm only 2 mins drive up the road.

Got there and the crows were feeding in the field i intended to shoot. they normally fly into the cow shed to feed on the hay and feed in the shed, so i set up to put my 2 new decoys out in the field just in-front of the shed to draw them in.

My plan was to use the crows that i had shot and use them as decoys, putting them in the field with my other ones. I started of with 2 and at the end of the day i had shot 12, i was really pleased with myself. The crows and jack doo's were coming in nicely and due to me being in my hide with camo jacket trousers and gloves and a green balaclava on they hardly knew i was there, it was so good to when i popped out of the hide to take a shot the didnt see me until it was too late.

Heres a few pics

good shooting there pal, :gunsmilie: did the rabbit make a difference if they were feeding in the cow shed and did you use a call?

Yes the rabbit was a good lure i think. It brang in a magpie but he was a bit far for a shot. Yes i dod use a call, this i think worked well too.
