RSWO 0
going to put down a few pheasants this year what size of release pen should i build for say 150 birds Found a couple of site that say "Size the pheasant pen for chicks that are 4 to 5 weeks of age. They require 25 square feet of pen space per bird for proper flying. Building a bigger pheasant pen is better than building one too small" seems a bit big however I dont know a lot about it. My link My link hope this helps RSWO Edited February 7, 2010 by RSWO Quote Link to post

Hats off to the gamekeepers, as it doesnt sound to be a easy job and there is a lot of thing that can go wrong. Good luck to u RSWO Edited February 7, 2010 by RSWO Quote Link to post

sean 0
try this http://www.basc.org.uk/en/how-to/gamekeeping/building-release-pens.cfm also read that you should have 1 yard of perimeter fence per bird so a release pen holding 150 birds should have a perimeter of approx 150 yards say about 40 yards each side for a square release pen - but i am sure more experienced men will inform you sean Quote Link to post
