pheasants...

got a brace of pheaqsants hanging out the back i forgot about, they were shot last saturday.. are they still ok to eat, bearing in mind they proberbly would of been frozen each night?

Usually leave them about a week even in the hotter months (depends quite how warm)...but glad you brought this up...my brace from last Saturday are also still hanging too, forgot all about them.....just checked...mine are fine but probably do them tomorrow now...if I don't forget again!! :hmm::whistling::thumbs:

Frozen, thawed, frozen, thawed etc.etc. = food poisoning. :no: No thanks :no:

 

I will give them at most three or four days, I normally do them the day after shooting, then eat or freeze. I'm not big on eating rotten meat. As a child we had to eat what was put in front of us, now I'm a big boy (old git) I can please my self, And do ;)

Quick update, did mine today, too lazy to pluck but they skinned a treat, 4 of us for lunch, and strange as it may seem the other 3 had never tasted Pheasant, all of them were impressed and happy to come back for more!!

PS...as someone else said..when they start to go green be very careful!!!
