Tobias 0
Im off to the gunshop tomorrow and ive got 2 scopes in mind for my .223 as my MTC 6-24x56 scope is being replaced after 3 great years of use as i want to buy a decent scope while i can, The scopes in mind are a Zeiss classic 2.5-10x50T or a Schmidt+Bender 2.5-10x56 the gun im using is a Remmington 700 sps and its mainly for fox's and long range vermin and will be used for lamping a fair bit in the winter months. Any pros and cons welcome thanks. Quote Link to post

danebrewer10 6
S+B.... all the way, I have a 6x42 and it's just superb, am the S+B you mention is the top of the line in the S+B stable, the other more expensive models are use the same glass, just in different clothes, as the zeiss classic range is the one below the Victory, I'm guessing they'd be slightly inferior to the victory range, but for us mortals i don't think it'd make a huge difference.... whichever you buy i think you'll be pleased with either, (also for my money I think the S&B looks better, the angles between the tube and the objective bell is shallower, the S&B is a couple of ounces heavier, but you're not really going to notice that, and they're about the same length, however the S&B is more expensive.... as ever it's your call, but for me? Tobias 0
Well ive got my new scope and boy it was a hard choice, after nearly an hour looking at the sights ive gone with the S+B 2.5-10x56 mailny because of the 56mm objective lense which should be better at letting extra light in when lamping and late evenings shooting the only thing i liked more about the zeiss was the weight it was a few ounces lighter, also for me the S+B seemed to have that extra edge when zoomed up on high mag. Now got to wait till monday before i can try to zero it weather permitting. Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
get the zeiss there optics are just as good as the s&b and your save money on thye mounts. as your more then likely need high to fit a 56 fornt lens where the zeiss is a 50 front lens. which is more then enough Quote Link to post
