My new greyhound

Recommended Posts

This is my new Greyhound Danny. He is abit unfit and wants to grab anything that moves at the moment but he will be ok in the end. He got retired because of a foot injury i think, nice lad all the same anyway! What do you all think? He's not for stud either as he has had the chop!

Cracking dog you have got there,

we just got this one two days ago, not a track dog but good breeding, are you going to work your one?

She is very laid back, whats yours like?

good luck

Nice bitch you have also! Im hoping to give him ago yes, he is really laid back at home and with the other dogs, but outside on a walk he sees anything move and he will grab! Even the other dogs! Just needs abit of work on training and he will be fine.

thanks, going to try and get this one working too, a lot of hard work ahead,

your half way there if ya dog is wanting to chase any thing that moves, showing he'll be keen,

have you worked a greyhound before? do you think they will be good in the field, have heard different views?

I haven't worked a pure grey before, but he won't be till at least next season. He won't be worked hard anyway as that's what my lurchers are for, i will take him out now and agin, but i have heard they are injury prone because they are just all speed and toe injurys, but we will see!

ye that's what Ive heard too, but you hear of the odd one that makes the grade,

i think the lurchers will do best as all rounders,

Lovely hound you got. Best of luck with him and take it slowly. It may be 6 months before he is normal in everyday things.

Thankyou, it will take as long as needs be, theres no rush, he aint going anywhere.

If its any help it took around 9 months for my greyhound to stop bothering other smaller dogs while out & he ignores the ferrets now as well so eventually they come round ... good luck with him
