Farmer who shot intruder walks free.

It might have some thing to do with an election comeing up if they had jailed him as the tories would have used it to their advantage.Wat i cant understand is a gamekeeper who had an unlicensed gun in his possesion that he took of poachers a few years back and was sentanced to two years and ended up commiting suicide in the court cells. It appears to me it depends wat part of the country you live in wether you go to prison or walk free. Then again i thought english law was crazy till i knew how scottish law workswallbash.gifcensored.gif

It was an unlicenced weapon I'm very suprised the police haven't gone after him for that.

Compare that to that Ex soldier who found a gun in his garden and handed it in and got done for it.

We need clear rules and laws that don't make it a lottery depending on the judge or current political mood.

Mate that is exactly what I was thinking....

Give it a few months and let labour win the election and I bet this wouldn't happen!

the sad thing is if lincolnshire police had a report of a man out with a lamp & dog, they would of been on the scene in minutes :wallbash:

You only have to WALK a lurcher down a country road in lincs and plod show up to make sure your not coursing! And if its not plod its fuking scrap men asking to buy your dog!

I won't be nosey and pry, but, I hope it all works out for ye as best it can.

The law is a funny thing until you tangle with it, common sense, justice, or whatever, often doesn't apply one bit.

You are not jokeing their mate.A gamekeeper mate who killed a poacher who was in his pheasent coverts 30 odd year ago walked free and everybody said it was because he worked for a certain lord wat was ironic that he was a poacher himself before he got the job.atb dell

Dont get me wrong im glad the farmer got a result and walked,

but i was under the immpression that keeping an unlicenced firearm was a mandatory 5 years and a judge could not use descretion??
