aaronpigeonplucker 32
looks great how did you prepare it for the paint? Edited February 5, 2010 by aaronpigeonplucker Quote Link to post
reggaeman 1
hi fella. i just rubbed it down with sand paper and a quick rub with steel wool before i gave it 3 coats of primer (rubbing down between each coat) and finally giving it 2 coats of plastikote paint. reason for plastikote is no lacquer required and once i scratch it its easy to sort out. hope this helps regards chris Quote Link to post
Lee85 44
My cousin has oen the same, if that's the standard silencer it's pap mate, whatdid you swap it for mate? Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Looks good to me Chris buddy I think that you will really get on with that .22 calibre mate. I'll give you 2 or 3 weeks and you will be knocking them over at 50 metres easily buddy. Si Lee, Thats his second Ultra buddy. His first one had a Hogan silencer fitted, so he knows what the standard ones are like mate. Give him time and i think Chris will change it again. Si Quote Link to post
reggaeman 1
yes lee i agree the silencer is pants pal i have a better one coming to me so its not a problem. i've owned 2 ultra's now and i love em!!! swapped it for a pro sport mate cos i couldn't shoot with a springer these days. got to used to pcp's lol Quote Link to post
reggaeman 1
cheers si. the paint hasn't turned out as good as the 1st one i did but i'll sort it lol i may put a hogan on this one too cos we all know how quiet the last one was atb chris Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes i think a Hogan could be another good call buddy . What pellets are you going to use in it pal? I guess you are going to stick with your favourite AA Fields mate. You may well find that you get another 5 or so shots with it being a .22 calibre rifle mate. Si Quote Link to post
reggaeman 1
ive zeroed with jsb exacts mate but reckon i'll end up using fx to be honest Quote Link to post

Lee85 44
I like the paint btw for a DIY job, my cousin has a ultra, i find it to be very accurate and reliable, the only thing is shot count, although it happily does a full days hunting, atb Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
im thinking of doing the same with my s400 except camoing it. i really am putting it off cos im so scared i'll mess it up. Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
You know it may work out the best thing Chris if you try some FX in that barrel. Im sure the Ultra barrel and the R10 barrel are the same mate and you know how the R10 likes FX flavour Si Quote Link to post
