eddie42 0
hi j start now with a recall whistle , same as getting the pup to recognise his name, pup in one room, you putting his food out in the other, put his food down so he can hear keeping him in the other room then a couple of pips on the whistle, he,ll soon associate the recall with pleasure, and leave the rest for later. rickyspringer 15
perfect advice from eddie, when putting food down, blow the command you will use for recall. I must say though don't set the dog up to fail or learn to become whistle deaf, only blow the recall command when you know the dog will come back to it. 1 Quote Link to post

activeviii 8
same as you do for all the other training. if you have got the sit, stay and recall then its easier. if dogs off lead and you call him and he come then just add the whistle in as well. when your out doing training or even at home then just add the whistle in to the command. when you say sit, add the whistle to the end. all the same as the voice commands but you are using the whistle as well. after a bit you can use either the whistle or voice. but it does take time.
