Hi, is there any bull in the dog?. I have seen a good number of wheaten/greys and they all seem to have fawn coats and practically all rough coated....Just wondering...cheers JD

The thing to remember is ALL working wheatens have bull blood introduced into them over the years, which is why a bully looking pup appears in most litters of wheaten Xgreyhounds,he is a fine looking dog though.

A lot of 1st crosses have the fawn wheaten coat, but 2nd and 3rd generation half crosses seem to throw some smooth coats.A mate of mine recently bred a litter 1st cross dog to 2nd generation half cross and there was only one fawn/wheaten colored dog,the rest were black and brindle.

my dog is out of the same sire but the dam is a litter sister to the dam of the bitch pup you just sold, Tig is 19months old now and no bull blood in him inless its three generations back, he's from springview lines, most of his litter are white with either brown or black patches and about half and half rough coat or smooth,

cheers

Shave a rough coated halfx wheaton down and look at the head size.... most firstx,s have heads like buckets but the rough coat tends to hide it..... also 2 rough coats mated together will produce smooth coats. atb stabba
