JackReid 35
I want to fit a new spring to make my springer more powerful because atm i think it runs around 7.5 mark and want it 11.5 ish. anyone know anyone or gunsmiths that will do it in North Derbyshire/South Yorkshire? Cheers Atb Martin I'm sure a fair few will do it buddy. If you went and had a look about see if they seemed to have an idea about air rifles (which I'm sure most old boys in gunsmiths will have started out years back on them), then maybe ask if I ordered a spring through their shop, which although will probably be more expensive than the internet, when you come to pick it up they may fit it for free. Because if you goto them with a new spring and say 'Can you fit this?' they will probably charge you a fair bit to fo it. May be les sof a spend to buy it throug hthem and get fitting for free. Who knows. I cant give advice on spring models available to have fitted as mine hasnt needed it as of yet (touch wood), but I'm sure alot of experienced guys will give you some links to some springs etc. All the best Jack Edited February 3, 2010 by JackReid Quote Link to post

salukiwhippet 6
What gun is it chap? If it was designed to run at 7.5 and you try to push it to 11+, it will either fall to bits or be dog rough to shoot and innaccurate. That's assuming swept volume etc will allow you to get to 11+ in the first place (which is doubtful) James Quote Link to post
