lamping in scotland

Recommended Posts

before the bad weather came i was doing my usual rabbiting trips up to scotland quite frequently, now the last three times i was up there i was getting quite a bit of grief off the police(dumfries and golloway force).now one officer in particular was very adamant i was breaking the law by catching rabbits out of season :wallbash: so after a bit of persuasion he radioed in and got the proper information, well not being happy wid that he then got me to follow me to the station to he photo copied my permission letters so he could check up whether i did infact have permission.having not been up for a while because of all the rain and then the big freeze i heard nothing,so wid things getting milder soon i hope i thought i would ring this officer up and sort things out,he said yes i did have permission but decided to make one or two new laws up himself lol,now a lot of this was caused by the way the permission letters i have are worded, the letters i have were downloaded of the internet when the laws changed in england(the proper form needed)this letter states the farmer needs to know when i was goind and whom wid,but the officer could not or probably would'nt have the fact that the laws are different in scotland to them in england.with me being a member of SACS i contacted ian clarke and told him the story,he very kindly spoke to the officer, his super and his sargent and got things sorted for me,most of the confusion was caused wid the forms i had so ian has very kindly offered to write out a form worded correctly for me,what he did ask me to do was put my story on here and also said to anyone on here who is a member of SACS if they also want some of the forms you's just have to contact him(after the weekend).just like to say a big thank you to ian clarke and the SACS organisation for there time and help.below is a pic of the form i had that caused the confusion.

Just recently in the local paper, at Dumfries Sheriff Courts, there has been cases of badger diggers, and 2 cases of hare coursing, all english hunting in Scotland.

what the scottish police did say to a friend of mine who was stopped on another night "when ever they catch anyone for deer poaching there from england when ever they catch people for badgers there from england and when ever they catch people coursing hares there from england" there just sick of people travelling up there,i'm just pleased i have it sorted now and thats mainly thanks to ian clarke.

its great britain i travel to england to see family does that make me bad ,and i take dogs ,and have ahunt , at the end of the day if they are not stealing peoples property the odd hare and whatever shoul;dnt be looked at as a bad crime ,this crack taking peoples dogs like to some taking there family member ,to me is the lowest form of pay back cause a few lads chase a few hares ,when you pay tax it goes to london , and when poxy rules comes in they go through england first as us scots are the guinea pigs at times, what about all the lads who rtraveld to waterloo cup or the fens from scotland , united we stand divided we fall
