andyfr1968 772
Hi, mate. I've never really thought about that, good question! I s'pose I've always used where I'm stood, sat, whatever but if you think about it, you're only talking a couple of feet or so, so don't worry. Cheers. Quote Link to post
ArchieHood 3,692
If you measure the distance from the barrel end to the centre of the scope and divide the distance you are zeroing at by this number you will then be able to look up the nominal datum point to measure from here...http://smouch.net/lol/ Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
A pellets journey starts in the action / breech of the rifle which is usually under the scope. When you zero a rifle the zero comes from the scope as its that you are adjusting to change the scope sight line. The difference between the scope turrets and the end of the barrel isnt seen on a zero, so as Davy said it isnt a problem and doesnt matter. A example of this would be if i marked a line on the floor at 30 metres in a wind free range and ensured that my scope turrets were level with the line. I then zeroed bang on so i could put pellet on pellet from that line. I then moved back the barrel length and ensured that the muzzle was now level with this line and shot at the same pellet hole it would still put pellet on pellet. Zini Quote Link to post
