FOXHUNTER 5,021
The weekend saw me and Ratcherman travelling to view some new ground in the Scottish Borders , the syndicate captain said bring your rifles as well. We arrived Saturday lunchtime and started to view the ground , the weather was extremely cold but with blue skies. We saw a couple of does bounding away over a clear fell and glassed another pair catching the afternoon sunshine. Evening stalk came around and Ratch duly took 2 does from one of the many highseats on site , I blanked seeing nothing. Next morning though I spied 3 on abanking sunning themselves and had a great stalk into them , 500 yards or so across a clearfell and there was a severe hard ground frost. I got to a rise in the ground about 200 yards from them and decided on taking the doe kid and leaving the mature doe. A good trip with 3 in the bag !!!
