If you have'nt been banned by the courts from holding a certificate and have'nt served a prison term of more than I think! its 5years? your entitled to apply I'll get that confirmed  I have a friend who served an 18 month prison term for serious assault 20 years ago and I and some associates helped him get his ticket back!!

All requests for a firearm or shotgun cerificate are supposed to be treated as individual? and on their own merit. Look up the home office guidelines on Google

It's 3 years.

It is but it's time sentenced not served. I think you are banned for 5 years after the expiry of the sentence. More than 3 years then it's a life ban from possessing firearms but you can appeal (in either case) through the courts to get it lifted.

Join SACS!first then apply if you get a refusal appeal the police have then got to show that you would be a danger to the peace or the public if it was granted. You still didnt say why it was revoked but some off the reasons the police give will not stand up in court if you appeal.
