Wxm 1,638
just out of interest what part of the country have people had there dogs from?? and would anyone have a prefered part of the country to get a dog from. the reason i ask is a bloke i used to do a bit with always said he'd never have a dog from anywhere other then scotland. as he always found you'd get a better worker. just wondered if anyone had their favourite. Wxm 1,638
Patterdale - Shropshire Deerhound x Greyhound - Scotland Deerhound/Greyhound/collie x collie - South Wales it shows you really have to travel to get the best out of each breed or to get a real quality pup. chartpolski 23,816
It shouldn't matter where the dog is from; if it's what you want, you should be prepared to travel to get it ! I got one of mine local, the other I travelled around 400 mile for. I can't understand people posting on the "for sale" ads saying "lovely pups mate, wish I was nearer", etc. If you realy wanted one, you'd travel ! Cheers.

skellyb 8
Years ago me and I think most people wouldn't travel too far for a pup/dog but nowadays (especially for me)I think that the internet makes it easier to find out about dogs in other areas plus you can see pics/videos of them and email back and forth re progress of pups in litter etc but at the end of the day it doesn't matter where they are from.
