got a 21 month whippet wich has retained its nuts ie not dropped person who had was told by vets it still would line a bitch... whats your views

i once heard that if they dont drop they go bad and hurt the dog get it checked if i was you

The testicles can turn to tumours due to excessive heat inside the body, so the dog needs to be castrated. They can usually still sire pups, but the retained testicle problem can be hereditary so it would be unfair on the pups to risk it.

MY DOGS THE SAME HE IS 3 NOW.I ASKED THE VET WHAT COULD BE THE OUTCOME AND SHE SAID THEY MAY TURN CANCEROUS.SO WITH THE WORD BEING MAY AND NOT WILL,I HAVE LEFT IT.I HAVE SPOKEN TO 2 GOOD GREYHOUND MEN AND THEY HAVE SAID HE MIGHT NOT EVEN HAVE ANY?.IN SAYING THAT WHEN A BITCH HAS/IS ON HEAT HE SHOWS A LOT OF INTEREST,BUT I STILL WOULD NOT TRY HIM ON A BITCH. sorry but i would have its nuts off think of the dog its not dear to have this done but it will be if your dog gets cancer but u are right not to put him over anything unless u want to breed problems i had a german shep with only one nut had them strait off no questions asked and he was a excel spec of the breed atb what ever u decide turbo tyke
