events co-ordinator 353
Your sgc is a good behaviour bond thats the best way to describe it. Quote Link to post
RicW 67
Take a look at the SGC post pinned at the top of this forum. As for convincing your mum . . . Oo-o-oh! Do you know any adults who us shotguns? Have a few days out and they might be happy to tell your mum you know what you are doing. Best bet though is to join a clay club. You will learn safe gun handling, and there will be folk there who field shoot as well, so once you have had a few sessions at the club you should be able to ask around for days in the field. If you do get asked out, offer to pay for the cartridges you fire. The guy will say don't be daft, but it is only polite to offer! Ric Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
Also, if you don't already have a part time job, get one. It'll show her directly that you're being a responsible person. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
also, as already mentioned, make sure she's aware that with a SGC, you can never get in trouble with the police, as you'd loose it, so she'll know you wont be out causing trouble, driving cars, giving oap's lip etc Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
As others have said, you need to make sure your mum knows you are responsible and serious about it. Joining a local clay club is a great way for her to see you are serious and are enjoying a great hobby. Once she sees that its not just a passing phase and that you are not turning into a "looney", then she shouldnt object to a SGC. I never had a problem getting an SGC as i was bought up in a farming area where virtually everyone has guns, incl most of my family. I did however have much more trouble trying to convience my mum to let me have a motorbike! So, i know what its like. Quote Link to post
