cheers mate i know what you mean, especially way things are at the minute. yeah she can shift when she needs to but she knows how to conserve her energy (doesnt dive in at everything at 100mph). obviously she not a daytime coursing dog but she does well for her size. game for anything, and a good bushing dog too, if theres deer laid up she l find them.

The only hunters the ban has seemed to effect very little is the hunters it was originally brought in to stop, the ones who ride horses with red jackets chasing quarry with red jackets. Now IF the conservatives get in and MODIFY the ban which is what they will do not reverse it, who will benefit? yes you guessed it those same hunters who wear red jackets. I wonder if they will march again to help us lurcher folk whistling.gif

Hare coursing wont die out it will just be done by less and less people as years go by but there will always be die hards who continue in one way or another notworthy.gif

The ban was brought in under the guise of animal welfare ,but it was effectively class war, which you seem to be doing your bit to keep alive Joe.

The Ban has actually made little difference to fox hunts ,and they have increased their membership. If you dont think the ban has affected coursing men ,all I can say is you don't do much of it.

Recently two people were in court for attending a coursing meet one is a well known tv personality and a QC, the other is a Knight of the Realm.

You talk divisively Joe, and we know what happens when forces are divided, they get conquered

The "Red Coat" image was what inflamed the lefties to start with .

If the fox hunts were banned ,but all dog work was retained, would you march for them ?

From the tone of your post, I would say NOT A CHANCE.

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick here mate. He said the ban has hardly affected the fox hunts – and he's right, they do seem to be carrying on regardless. And I think he's also right that not many of the hunts would march to support dog men.

I marched for all field sports.

My post does appear a bit ambiguous I must admit.

The ban has affected us all to some degree.

Its also been compounded by some rather irresponsible actions ,by a minority,as the current purge on lampers attests.

I think it would be a mistake to look solely at your own particular sport,I went on numerous marches and demos, and found myself shoulder to shoulder with suits from the city ,who were shooting men,Cornish, and Welsh Farmers, terrier boys, and double barrelled named MOH's.

This is not the time to talk about "them and us",that phrase should apply soley to those who are anti hunting ,imo.

The C/A has stated it will do all in its power to protect and restore ALL aspects of field sports.

The Conservatives have stated they will find time for a free vote on the Hunting Act,that's good enough to get my vote.

How many fisherman are there in the UK?

One and a half million, maybe?

What percentage were on the marches?

Imagine if they had turned out?

From 450-500,000,we would have been well over a million on the streets.

Unfortunately its often "keep your head down, till they come for you ,and by then it's too late.

I don't fish ,and I was overjoyed to see those posters , published by PETA, of a Labrador with a fish hook in its mouth,I hoped it would be a wake up call for the Anglers, that after they had finished with us, they were next.

Sadly it was not the case.

Lamping has been virtually eradicated in my area chopper has seen to that,if you keep getting arrested they will start confiscating your dogs,as a decent dog takes at least 2 years to rear/train..ect how many are you prepared to lose, everyone involved is given points on their licence whether you are driving or not and the fines are around £700 a pop.

The 4x4 field drivers have pushed the situation no doubt about it,but sites like this with idiots openly saying things they shouldnt have probably added fuel to the fire as well, what do you think the anti's cops think when they see a picture "shot and retreived" and digi's pre-ban,i like to wind them up myself but in the long run we cant win unless a government change the law,and none of them will, everyone who was stupid enough to march did it for nothing, only licenced hunts will be able to "re-start"[LMFAO]

I doubt even coursing greyhounds will be allowed again, depends who does it though,2 lads in a tranny with a couple of Saluki x's will be jumped on,sir "im a toff with loads of money/land"will not be prosecuted.

Just my opinion, ill go and get my crash helmet now.

Most people who followed Greyhound Coursing were your average Joe, the same with Foxhunting. There wernt many Greyhound Coursing meets in the North and Yorkshire i missed and im definatley no Toff, that was a misconception the Anti's used as a barganing tool with the so called New Labour working class party ( my arse). When their is a change of Goverment the new Party in Power might have the forsight to Give the British back some of their Identity and Culture starting with Hunting, Coursing ect as thats when this Island really started going down the pan . The countryside is the backbone of Britain the towns and citys our arms and legs driving forward industry - commerce ect. What - who is anyone or thing if spineless? If the Conservitives have any sense they will start to mend this country by reinstating ALL Hunting under licence. 40 pounds per man per year so long as you have permission to obtain a licence to Hunt, Course, Lamp, Ferret,Longnetting, Hawking, Shoot ect exactly the way you obtain a Fishing licence. For fucks sake our Treasury could do with the money.

I agre with most of what you say,but i think the "one law for one and one law for another" is already well proven,i put forward the idea of a similar system to the American one on here some time ago and it was called a "free for all" and put down by certain people, the same people who have blatently broken the law and got away with it.

I also bet the same bloke i would be right and the Tories/landowners would turn their backs on ordineary people despite the support given in the marches, well we will soon know wont we.
