Guest Daks
I think in some regions we are at that state now,,,,,,,,,, maybe in the near future we will have to walk the lanes and fields with dogs that dont look capapable of killing a hare......Just a thought.. justreading this topic and this jumped out at me, i started thinking that the world is going backwards again!!! like in the times where lords were the only people who could own greyhounds/sighthounds etc and any commoners would be in deep shit if they had them so they bred them with collies etc to create the lurcher wondering what in the future people would breed them with to change the look of a lurcher so the average jo bloggs mr poacher out to catch a few and give the dog a good test wouldnt stand out so much???? on the other hand though i just say f**k them all and the ban if you dont like hunting then carry on trying to stick your head up your arsehole!!!!! the colonel 83
stick to public footpaths, through fields, if your dog is off lead and happens to chase something by mistake, surely that's not your fault? Quote Link to post
ROBERTO M 350
The best of the coursing is finished , the hares arnt as hard as they were , so the dogs will suffer as they wont get tested as they did in the past ,you cant run on the best land , its just to hot ,so your running on shity land with softer hares , so you wont get a true look at your dog as it needs to run good hares week in week out , not every now and then if you can get on good land , Even if your on the best of land you arnt running , run hares , bye this i mean hares that have had a good few dogs up there ars , and no how to run when a dogs up there rump !!!!!! Its all true , sad but true , people are killing big numbers of hares with dogs that wouldnt of killed half the amount years ago , i dont think the blood lines will die off , i just think its the same anymore , the hares are softer and easyier to catch , every one seem to be killing 4/5 all the time , Plus i think the jobs f****d because of the permission bollox , every one is out to beat the other to run on permission , i was guilty of this as much as anyone , but iv seen the light , no one can be trusted any more its cut throut and ars kissing just to run on some ones land , f**k that ... your better of not running at all and have your dignity , Iwont stop running , ill just run when and were it suits me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 Quote Link to post

adamb20 22
I think the well bred coursing dog lines will soon be a thing of the past and lost in history If the current trend continues, often with the assistance of some who do the extra curriculars , I think sadly you may be right,I would guess that in 20 years or so a lad with a running dog will be looked upon with the same sense of censure as a badger baiter/dogfighter.I would like to think that there will allways be a youngster slipping out with his dog trying to catch a bunny but I have my doubts. I think in some regions we are at that state now,,,,,,,,,, maybe in the near future we will have to walk the lanes and fields with dogs that dont look capapable of killing a hare......Just a thought.. bet theres a few of them about at the minute, especialy on the lamp. i would say i haveone myself. YOKEL 2,250
like other forms of sport that sit outside of the law involving dogs, this also will continue in one form or another. The participents need to lower the numbers at the meets, a tight ship and tighter lips are required.A couple of fellas walking a hound apiece is gonna draw less attention than some of the big mob handed afairs that have been seen in the past. Personally, i only operate within the law, and would only advise others to do likewise, but as sure as eggs are eggs, there will always be someone to break what the government thinks it has fixed. The dogs will continue to exist for along time, they may have to change slightly to meet requirements, but exist they will. Think on other laws past as long ago as 1835, where the dogs/chickens etc and indeed the "sports" consigned to the history books as a result of this legislation, or did a determined few continue on to preserve what thay held dear?
