Im not gonna stick a post up everytime i take the dogs out locally alone, but tonight is sort of a milestone.

Jazz snapped her rear ligament, lamping over a year ago in Shropshire. 2 operations later, and a fused hock it has'nt looked like she would work again, and she was my one and only a pleasure to take out, a pleasure to watch. Its only really been this summer she has started running again, chasing various game whilst out on walks.

Now ive sussed out the local places and im on a weeks holiday thought this is the time to try her.

We went into the 1st feild, spotted 2 quite a way out, as i made my approach lamped again to see one of them moving off to my right, it was a longish slip but tried anyway. Jazz took off but went even further to the right.... thought 'she hasnt seen it, shes spotted something else' i should have known better, she had predicted where it would run to and was heading it off (who said bull's were thick :D ) this one got away after a short chase straight through the fence, i hissed Jazz on to the other one who was still sat out, again this one got through the fence but not untill Jazz had turned it a couple of times....it was then i noticed how bad her turning now is :(

I spotted a couple out in the next field so one more run, id already decided 3 was going to be her max whether she caught or not, dont want to risk more trouble with the leg and her fitness isnt what i would like.

These rabbits were very near the fence, she did manage to turn it away but it got through the 2nd turn....ahh well, at least she's had a night out. Started walk to the fence to see the escape routes, flicked on the lamp to see were she was (she hadnt come back?) just to see her lift one from its seat herself, this one tried to get through the fence and bounced off the wire, it ran straight back but not in enough time, god bless her, she'd got one :rocker::rocker::rocker: By the look of its back leg, the bunny was very unlucky, looks like she just grabbed it, but however she caught it, luck or whatever, she still got it.

Got home and i had to tell her to get through the gate....she wasnt ready for home yet :D

Im absolutley buzzing :yahoo:

Now tomorrow might be a different story, she might be so lame she cannot walk, but we dont know if we dont try. If she is ok (im expecting her to be stiff) ill get her out again this week and a couple of times each week to build up her fitness...just a couple of runs each time.

She is stiff, more so with a front toe she recently knocked up

She doesnt want to get out of her bed, but when she does and walks about she loosens up quite quickly :D

Her future is looking brighter ;)
