Unless you are on a permit run area, in which case you need to check the rules for that specific area. I'm not aware of any that forbid decoying. In some areas you will find folk that frown upon goose decoys being used, especially on areas used for roosting. But they don't make the rules! Decoys are less effective on morning flights as most of the birds are leaving the foreshore to feed inland and don't pay much attention to decoys, unless they are feeding on an area of merse grass below the tideline. Floating decoys can be particularly effective on evening flight when the tide suites. Mark. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
