IF A COLLAR/LOCATOR SNAPPED BELOW WHILE THE DOG WAS WORKING(had a few with teeth marks on!) THEN CAME OUT, HOW DEEP WOULD IT HAVE TO BE

BEFORE YOU WOULD SAY "BOLLOCKS, IM NOT DIGGING FOR JUST THE COLLAR"? ITS HAPPENED TO ME A FEW TIMES WITH FERRET COLLARS SLIPPING OVER

THE FERRETS HEAD WITH ME BUT NEVER A TERRIER THO..... "CURIOUS" THATS ALL????

Only happened to me with a ferret collar, dug about 4 foot. Was 10 year ago or more.

first of all the dog shouldnt come out so you wont really know its lost the coller till you break through to f**k all, so its too late, obviosly you will probobly think sumin is up by then anyhow as there no banging or baying etc but id carry on the mark, and then go from there.

 

im not sure what price the bellman collars are now but there a good days wages, depends if you can afford too loose a day dont it?

 

it has happened to me digging (trying)to a mates dog. it went to qaurry and came out with out the coller on because he didnt put it on properly! dug to the coller at just short of 5ft, if it was my choice id of left the dog there!

Seen it happen, a mates bitch bolted a fox from an old tip and the bitch came out without her collor on, it was a ferret collor stitched in to a normal collor.

my mate dug it out at 3 feet or so.

it happened to me, the collar came off my young bitch in an earth, we were getting a steady mark and had started to dig, but we could hear the battle beside the entrance and then the fox bolted with the bitch behind him. we had to dig the collar, only 3 ft so not too bad.

edited to say,it was a bellman and flint collar

depends what collar if it was an old mk1 collar i would dig 10 foot in easy ground

if it was an mk3 collar i would dig 15 foot in easy stuff and if it was a bellman and flint collar i would get a digger and go as deep as i needed to
