johnboy19 38
Right, I went for a walk around a part of my permission i have never been on before, and found quite a long tree line full of burrows. Most of the burrows start at the roots of the tree, and dont look like they are easy to net, if at all. So my question is, how would you net these? Is the only way to do it to use a long net? Never used one before, i know my uncles has one but i would imagine you need a good few Anyway im hoping to go at the weekend so thought i would ask you lot the best thing to do. Cheers, John Quote Link to post

Cheers, John Hi John, try using poke nets which are just large purse nets about 5ft long but they have two pegs, one at each end instead of the usual one and because of this they purse up quicker. Its worth having a few in your bag as they are good for the tree stump type sets or any other holes that are awkward due to size, location, etc. You can buy 6z nylon ones for £1.65 each, but i would reccomend you get spun poly ones £4.00 each as these are better quality and will not tangle up and they'll last longer, Pic of one below. Hope this helps. Paddy Polecat Edited February 2, 2010 by paddy polecat Quote Link to post

Pigeon Controller 1
I have a number of these types of burrows and the way that I net them is to screw in the electric fence insulaters ( tape hooks)above the holes and anchor the net peg to these. I obtained most of my hooks from discarded fencing at my daughters riding stable. You make no noise screwing them in and the rabbits are well secured in the nets. Jamie m 668
sounds good no good sticking bolts in mature trees people might not be so keen on that leaves an entrance for infection and decay Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
Borrow your uncles longnet and make life easy for yourself, other than that, just net the holes as best you can, then hope for back netters on the good holes Quote Link to post
