davyt63 1,845
Hi every one Spike25blue payed me another visit week end just gone, we went out Friday night, Saturday, day & night, Sunday, day & night. And only stopping for a kebab, roast dinner & apple crumble n custard! Mmmmmm Oh! And a cuppa tea & Joannes home made chocolate biscuits mmmmmm Well I have not had a week end like it before, Friday night rob & I went over to the b/park over all we took about 6 shots between us, and could not hit a thing! Apart from the last shot of the night which fell to me, on the lamp! First shot I missed then it moved between some trees, could still see the kill zone! So quick flick of the lamp THWACK! Down it went paced it back 43yds which worked out to be 38.7yds as I have measured my stride! Not much after that happened. So of home to get up for an early start! where it fell Chaz picked rob & I up @ 07:00hrs and of we headed to moonlight field/valley, it was -2 so had me self all the thermal underwear on! as there is no shelter out there. We decided to meet back for a cuppa @ 11:00hrs in this time, after a few hours in a sniping place I decided to take some pics for ya all to see. also came across this me tinks its a fox carcus And had a wander around to see where chaz hadnt got back to me when I tried to contact him on the walkie talkie. When I met up with him he showed me some lads ferreting about 200yds away, so we took a walk down to them and watched for a while and had a chat, while we were there they had four out of one warren, so we left them to it. And went back for a cuppa and a roll & soup. I did not see one bunny, or take one shot! Chaz came back with one, and rob had seen 1 or 2 me tinks. Soon enough it was midday and the ferreters were making there way round to the valley, so we went over to another permission about 10 minutes away. When we got there, guess what? There were ferreters there two So we left Nathan and the lads in peace! But before we left a feral landed on the roof, so chaz went back to the truck and got his falcon lighthunter .177 out and we were watching, then about 5 minutes later .all we could here was pphhhttt!!! and the feral met its maker! And then after a great shot! We headed to the b/park. But not much happened there either. So of home for a kebab. Then chaz picked us up @ 7pm and we went to the golf course, to see what was about! And I can tell ya not bloody much! The plan was to get one of the buggies and have a drive around the course and shoot from the buggy But the gate was locked to the buggy park, but still checked the key I had found in the house .which a grounds man gave me a year ago, and it was the right key as I did find two keys so we had a big walk on and did not see much in the way of getting a shot of and had to stop for a cuppa & chocolate biscuits on the bench ¾ the way round. But rob took the photo, so will have to see if he puts it up lol after we had are caffeine & choclit fix. We went the rest of the way round but all I seen was Charlie (fox) so we called it a night And we were out again @ 10:00am and we decided to try out Robs pigeon magnet, after we set every thing up, and put are decoys out. It was time for a cuppa & yes you guessed it! Corn dog & mustard roll, after we had a bite to eat. Actually thinking about it we done more eating than shooting! But we sat and waited and waited & drank more tea! With nothing to show for it .but we had a good shoot off with some spent shot gun shells, which I place in a tree 35yds away. And yes I won! Well hit the most, with chaz a close second with the lighthunter. chaz & rob,and tanks rob for your sharpening services Now it was dinner time so we went home for a roast, and then back out to the b/park to zero my AAS410K .22 as we were taking the .22 out tonight. After the zero session and more tea. We had a quick look around, but nothing about. But rob did get one the night before a cracking 39yd shot! But we had to throw it as it was infected. Now we are on are way back to Nathans to try some .22 lamping, as we pulled up we met Nathan who told us the lads had 18 bunnys and he had 2 himself . So we thought is there any left, but as we passed to get to the entrance there was about 10 bunnys out so that was good. I couldnt shoot for shit! But rob got one. But a very good week end despite the small bag, and the weight gain sorry no group photo as i forgot1 was having far to much fun! Happy hunting davy Quote Link to post
