Guest 2GOOD
Now we are getting somewhere, Land always pays a Large factor in the catching ability of the dog. So It would have to be a dog that was tough, good feet, flash off the mark, versatile, top turn, top strike, stamina, guts, sense and hunting ability. me personaly .i like a dog that would not have to have 3 of the above ,flash of the mark ,top turn, top strike ,because i dont know what you mean ,i sooner have a steady brainy dog ,and all the other things you mentiond to go with it .because its at the end of each week that counts if you rely on the the dog to fill the pot .not a flash in the pan you have definitely been about a bit and know what you are talking about who are you TIMY BROWN Quote Link to post

colliejohn 840
My prefered cross would be the old style collie types, i.e. reverse threequarter, reverse 3/8,s 5/8,s, or first cross, a pot filling dog is not all about speed, it,s got to have a decent nose, be willing to face cover, have plenty of brains, agility, striking prowess, obviously a dog as to have enough pace to catch it,s quarry but you don,t need or want a dog that runs at 100 mph. regards collie john. forest of dean redneck 11,684
depends on what you want your pot filled with. if you have known true hunger you realise you can be a bit less fussy on what you eat. or have upright morals/scruples. Quote Link to post
