Too thin..??

How can I tell if my terrier is to thin

 

I can feel/see all his ribs and back-bone.The butcher said he is fine but I am not to sure.

looks fine, but if you can see the backbone on him especially with his fur like that, he might need a few pounds on him. i like the type of him though mate

Dunno, as long as the animal is healthy it dont really matter i suppose.It looks healthy enough on the picture.Before i discovered beer and pies i was a bit skinny,so there's your answer,free of charge,get some ale down it and feed it pies !

Ta about that went I got him he weighed about ten kg now he weighs 8 kg

Feel for muscle tone also, doesnt matter if they are a bit on the thin side aslong as they have good muscle.

i think we all take the piss from time to time on here i no i do, but at the end of the day aslong as the dog can do his job and the man hoo owns him is happy hoo gives a shit.

 

ive had some right ugly feckers in my time some with 4 legs some with 2 :11:

but like say if they can do the job all well and good.
