poacher3161 1,766
No and the only reason is the size factor though i have seen the odd large dog of this breeding that could be classed as a good allrounder. This cross has every thing going for it stamina determination and heart.atb dell Quote Link to post
Casso 1,261
Had a really good one years ago, took everything asked of her but just lacking that top gear, her feet were awful, real terrier feet, but made up for all her flaws with complete focus and determination Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
I carnt weigh it up though [bANNED TEXT] lads have f1x beddy greyhounds and then breed them back to whippets [my mates done it twice][bANNED TEXT] out and out allrounders can be produced from this cross [bANNED TEXT] put to larger bred lurchers and proof of this is the start of the merlin & eve bloodlines as the one i had years ago before more saluki was put into them is the double of the beddy cross i have now.atb dell Quote Link to post
Top Lamper 2k10 169
youl problys get the odd 1 out of the litter thats a big dog but they mostley only grow to 21'' to 23'' but they make the best rabbiting and fox dogs atb Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
The only fault with some of this cross is T.I.T.S=Two inch to small to make them out and out allrounders. Quote Link to post
Casso 1,261
Make sure about the parents though, seen some really bad examples of wastage when first crosses have been crossed with lurchers Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
Make sure about the parents though, seen some really bad examples of wastage when first crosses have been crossed with lurchers That is a good point as i would avoid crossing one back to a small type lurcher with lots of other crosses in it as i myself bred two beddy/grey/grey/collie hybreds together and produced brilliant lamping dogs but the bitches were a bit on the small size.atb dell Quote Link to post

steveS.Yorks 161
The thing about Beddy x's is they are pretty consistent,if the parents are the right sort you arent taking much of a chance with the pups, slightly limited but they arent one of the most popular lurchers for nothing. Better allrounders can be produced by crossing to other types, the best dogs ive ever seen without Saluki blood were a mixture of Beddy/deerhound[supposedly]/greyhound and collie, more 3/4 x's than half x's were used to create them, but this type of breeding is much more hit and miss imo. hedz31 1,308
No they cant do anything special that other crosses cant do,and theres to many people out there putting the wrong type of bedlington in them and ive yet to see a bedlington cross that would draw or take flak when working with terriers there probably is some out there but i wouldnt bother with the cross Quote Link to post
