how do i train my bull lucher to kill rabbit

need a bit of help on my with my lucher she chase rabbits but she not chaching them.so what can i do to train her she 13 moth old . so bit help plz thanks j

you could let her watch an experieced dog or even double her up with it. or get her to retrieve a rabbit skin dummy.

Just stick at it, the law of averages dictates that the more she chases the more is the likelyhood she will catch one.

Get the rabbit skin dummy on a piece string and make sure you give it some good tugs get her real interested and a pull or two when she's got hold so it gives her the feeling of the rabbit kickin

go ferreting next to a rabbit prof fence feild when you catch a rabbit frow it in to the feild and let your dog kill em hell soon get the i dear or just get a rabbit and let it go in the middle of enny feil thts wat i did with my pup at 6months and his now an apsalut killing mashine

i had a dog like that years ago it never done nothing i gave it away in the end , now i allways try to get some ferreted rabbits and tease the dog with it but just hold the dog back abit and dont let the dog touch it , then go and find a field get the rabbit show the dog then let them go

you need to say how much bull is in the dog,some dogs with bull are just too heavy to run well,also don't run it on golf courses or short grass as it will have no chance,try it ferreting with someone you know let it feel a few in its mouth ,it will soon sharpen it up

The penny hasnt dropped yet mate, I hope you have just chose your words mistakenly, I want my lurcher to chase and catch rabbits, then to retieve them not kill them, hopefully they retrieve them live and are then dispatched.

Some lurchers if allowed to rag or play tug of war can turn out hard mouthed or will rag every rabbit caught to kill it, teach it to retrieve and chase a skin dummy but not to munch and rag. It will come keep at it, all the best. WR.
