does anyone ever use pure greyhounds?

Recommended Posts

so i've been on about getting a lurcher for ages...but i already have 3 dogs! and the mrs doesnt "really like lurchers" apparantly!

but she let slip that she likes greyhounds....A LOT! :hmm:

does anyone ever use them for work as opposed to racing?

any info would be much appreciated.

alot of lurchers look like greyhounds mate, so just get a greyhound looking lurcher and tell your misses it's pure greyhound :)

why not just get whatever you want, as a pup you can tell her its a greyhound, and when it grows into whatever it really is just say you made a mistake.... or were lied to by the breeder who's contact details you seem to have lost....

simples.

i took one out not long ago , they said it was a good dog ,it jacked on the first big ear then we gave it a rest run it again it done it again , it was really fast but could not turn , we took it home and the person who owned it said it could not walk for a week and that was a very fit dog ,so if i was you i would nt get one , get a lurcher pup she will soon fall in love with it if you play your cards right

hi mate, not owned one myself but i've seen a few, they are not the most intelligent dogs so thats why people cross them with other breeds to give them brains, lack stamina aswell, i'm not saying they are all like that but most are! make good pets, but working wise steer clear, atb

slipper

Slipper what gives you the right to run down full grus when you say you've never owned one,

Langouroux Forget about a track dog get yourself a pup and bring it up as you would a lurcher pup, they learn how to control their speed.

Maybe not the best hunters, but had them jumping, killing and carrying to hand
