Whippet/wheaton crosses

Recommended Posts

As some of you may know i had to rehome my lurcher due to him snapping at my daughter..

I was looking for a whippet or whippet cross for ferreting and mooching as i no longer do any lamping.

I have now got a 7 wk old whippet/wheaton pup.

Does anyone have any experience his cross? I'd be interested in seeing pics of an adult dog if anyone has any.

Any constructive info welcome.

Any slaggers keep it to yourselves Cheers Daveo

A bloke i know has 1 pal and ive been out with it on the odd occasion and its a decent dog its 3/4 laguna whippet 1/4 wheaten i belive, it stands about 21" and it will face anything and give its all no matter what its doing, i also found it to be a quiet, biddable, and an all round nice little dog.

If this pup turns out to be any good id like to put him over a whippet.

This little fella is not shy, but he is very quiet.

Like i said above he is 7 weeks old and he spent an afternoon bursting ballons left over from the young 'uns party No fear...

Hi davio i have a rough coated first cross wheaten /whippet. called Ozzy he is from a wheaten dog over a laguna bred bitch. he is twenty three inch to the shoulder and just under sixty pounds. he;s not the fastest lurcher ive had but he is by far the most committed no nonsence dog ive owned in my lifetime. and can be a real handfull. he has never been off work sick in five years ...four seasons...and is touch wood. the captain scarlet of the canine world. my only advice would be to spend a lot of time and effort on basic training. and then do some more basic obedience :thumbs: and make sure he knows he is bottom of the pack. give em an inch and they will take a mile. the working side will take care of itself :icon_eek:

have some pc probs at the moment but will get some pics up as soon as poss. good luck with the pup :boxing:

he is the biggest whippet cross ive seen or heard of. he was the heavyest in the litter and has took to the wheaten a lot...litter wastage really... but i like a strong dog. stormyboy the look in his eyes just about sums him up :clapper:post-2078-126485400157_thumb.jpg

he is made for producing threequarter crosses. as a lot of this litter where quite racy. be interesting to see others of this breeding
