Woodcock and partridge are also game birds that need protecting, the law don't say feck all about what type of game birds wild or released. So proving if birds are wild or released don't come into it and if you are ever caught digging as long as you have permission from the land owner there is nothing the law can do to prove your not working within the law as far as game bird protection goes.

thats not going to happen mate. you have a pm

thanks for the message paul73,I only find as I see and my plummer has his faults as a headstrong fecker, but gives 100% most days,I nearly lost him the other day though,I was flying my harris, female 2lb6oz on rabbits the other day as usual with him bushing them, she missed and marked a patch of brambles,I put the dog in, it bolted through the wood with the dog behind it,she flew it,the rabbit shot down the hole, the dog popped his head in the hole just as the bird arrived and decided the dog would do instead,2lb6oz at 25 mph, knocked the dog over, footing him through his tongue and eye socket, never showed any sign of having the dog before,sh*t myself and dived on both, luckily she'd missed the eye, going through the socket, took five mins to get bird off, trying to hold both was nigh impossible, didn't make a sound really though,he just let me get talons out of his tongue and face which sounds easier than it was,but he is fine again now thank f*ck,or it would have been a divorce for me.

must have been a bit worrying that. never had anything to do with birds of prey. but 2 and a half pounds of bird hitting at 25 mph must be like getting hit with a lump hammer. and they must have some grip with them talons. can imagine it was a bit of a task trying to seperate those 2 without doing any more damage. :( has the dog shown any sing of bearing a grudge yet.
