 my bitch is also unspannable and gets to some the last one took three and a half hours. if i had used one of my smaller terriers i.m pretty sure i could have had it out to the gun in under half an hour. dont get me wrong i like the bigger bitch she is very handy all round. but if i was working earths regular in a control situation i would use the smaller dogs. common sense really. but the old saying common sense aint that common rings true in terrierwork thats one reason i do mainly small fry these days

sounds like you know your stuff mate,as we all get older we find it easier to use our brains not our brawn, why dig all day,if I wanted to do that I would get an allotment,if your dog gets smashed up its out the game for weeks, you would need a large kennel of dogs to go out regular.

My dog plummer will guard a hole and is a bit quick on the off with other dogs but i can and do hunt them (have 2 plummers)without to much bother with other dogs owned by other folks,i have 2 russells(dog and bitch) as well they all hunt together but can't put same sexes in together when boxing up.

WC..

She had her first litter on october, wasnt wanted .

my young pat x terrier got to her, she had 4 pups but only one lived.

as it was from untested blood the pup went to a very good pet home.

i can watch the pup and if my pat x makes the grade i can repeat the maiting.

best dog I bred was when I started a line 25yrs ago that was a small russel bitch with a smooth coated black fell terrier, the bitch would only work rabbit, she was petrified of anything bigger, but the stud dog was a 100% all day monster, but not too big,but longer on the leg than the bitch, she had 4 pups, one black and 3 perfect looking russells,I kept the bitch pup, turned out to be a great worker.how many plummers you got then?do you have any problems with them fighting?

my plummer dog holds a grudge and will always get even eventually,I knew brian from a guy in liverpool called jimmy keeling and I know this was a particular problem when he was creating the breed,I had two pups that were litter wastage during that period, early eighties, one was a fighter and one was't,I thought he had bred this trait out, thats why I asked the forum if its a particular problem before I buy another
