wirral countryman 2,110
does anyone else work a plummer terrier on this website,I have a seven year old dog thats very small and am looking to get a small bitch puppy if possible, mine was bred by andy in rhyl,so the pup would have to be unrelated,I would have a small russell, but has to come from working dogs, thanks, also how have people found their plummers for working ? gazzer 1
thought wremead was shut down ??........wasnt that shanes kennels??? (correct me if im wrong). i have a plummer mate, brilliant little dogs, i got mine predominantly for ratting as thats what i enjoy the most, although im hoping to get him on his 1st dig soon, hes only 2 so no immediate rush, anyway, excellent ratters, full of beans, extremely loyal breed, found mine to be a little bit yappy and preoccupied with branches but a swift dig in the ribs sorts that out......i would wholeheartedly recommend them as a breed, ive had russels and obviously they are fine too, just prefered the look of the plummer.......id say go for it...as will AMMADORE (glenn)...he's the resident expert on the breed so any more info he'll put you right. wulf 32
wyremead belongs to G Welsby - posts as Amadore (see above). Shane's kennel was called boadicea and is shut down as far as i hear. Quote Link to post
ulverston moocher 60
Yes it is glen and tracey that have wrymead were I have ordered my plummer from. My grandad has a plummer dog of glen it is spot on I recomended him to get one after seeing a few at shows and I have wanted one ever since so hopefully wont have long till I get my pup she will be primerily for rat and rabbit and as a ferreting companion. I hope they all have nose as good as my grandads because it is second to none. Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
Whats the breeding of the plummer ? d'ont know how he is bred, all I know is andy,a yorkshire lad bred him in rhyl,it was'nt sanctioned as a club cross because the sire was the bitches father, the lady at the plummer terrier association knows how he is bred, all I know he is from the old lines and as such is rare,he is half the size of an ordinary plummer.he works above and below 100% but sensible with it,very clever can be called out and won't just dissapear without notice,he will mark a hole and wait for the nod to go,if he has a fault its that he is mute on everything bar charlie,he can hold a fox above ground on his own till I get thereand is as game as they come Quote Link to post

paulk73 151
i dont want to go into money, on a public forum. however what i will say is its no where near as much as some of the prices ive heard banded around on here. and im that impressed with him, if someone offered me ten times what i gave for him it wouldnt be any where near enough for me to part with him. i wouldnt part with him. end of..
