Lee85 44
As the title really, I can't get it off - to the point where when i'm unscrewing it it's spinning my barrell around, is there a product I could put on or has anyone else encountered this, i don't want to put the mole grips on the barrell etc? Lee85 44
looks like it is then, maybe pvc tape around the mole grips and cloth over the barrell? Quote Link to post
Alan108 0
Try wrapping rubber gloves round the barrel and moderator first,it gives a good grip, and get a friend to help. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Lee, I’m not sure what rifle you have buddy, or what your silencer is made of, But I have had this problem when fitting a silencer to an older version HW95 when they had flip compensators instead of the new silencer. Tony Wall told me to heat the flip compensator with a heat gun and then unscrew it once the metal had expanded. It worked a treat for me and I fitted my silencer easily. Zini Quote Link to post
IanB 0
If that doesn't work try a rag in a vice and tighten your barrel in there, then same for your silencer use rag and use eagle beaks, stilsons, or mole grips... Quote Link to post

Cheers for the advice people, i'm gunna give it a bash tonight atb hi lee let us know how you get on buddy, but word of warning be very careful with mole grips! make sure you have your barrel & mod protected VERY!! well. you will be surprised how tight they can hold something and still even mark it ,so take care.my advise would be to use heat ,as mentioned above! in the way of a hair dryer on max heat!ok good luck buddy regards davy Quote Link to post
andyz 30
With metal on metal I've alwys though heat to expand the item which then breaks the seal and should enable you to unscrew! LLet us know how you get on!! Good Luck, Andy Quote Link to post
